Crowd turns out for Trump
President Donald Trump's visit to Pittsburgh Saturday night filled an airport hangar with thousands of supporters.
“The hangar was totally packed with people,” Jim Keffalas, a Butler County representative on the Republican Party of Pennsylvania's state committee, said. “We were like sardines.”
Keffalas estimated that 5,000 to 6,000 people were in the hangar, plus at least 2,000 more outside.
During the rally, the president talked about steel and aluminum tariffs — including the national security argument for them — and the need to create a level playing field with our trading partners. Trump also talked about illegal immigration, the importance of building a southern border wall and the crime and drug elements of illegal immigration.
That led the crowd at the rally to chant, “Build the Wall!,” Keffalas said.
During his visit to Pittsburgh, Keffalas said Trump appeared with congressional candidate Rick Saccone, who faces 18th District voters on Tuesday.
“President Trump strongly endorsed him, because he's going to be voting for the Republican agenda,” Keffalas said.
