11:32 p.m. Monday — Jonathan M. Fusaro-Podobensky, 22, was arrested after he allegedly pointed a pistol at his 21-year-old brother and pulled the trigger during an argument at the family's apartment in the 200 block of West Pearl Street.The gun apparently was unloaded.The alleged victim, Brandon Fusaro-Podobensky, managed to wrestle the pistol away from the defendant, according to court documents. But later, Jonathan Fusaro-Podobensky took the gun again and left the home.Police were called and the suspect eventually led them to a bush in the backyard where he had hidden the pistol, a Sig Sauer 9 mm, documents said.Officers also seized a magazine clip for the gun, which the defendant had left on the floor in the home. The clip had 13 rounds in it.Jonathan Fusaro-Podobensky was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.Friday — Dusty L. Yates, 26, of Butler was charged with theft after she allegedly admitted stealing a television, valued at $125, from James Leonard's apartment in the 300 block of South Chestnut Street. Yates is accused of taking the 19-inch, flat-screen television on June 9.
6:24 p.m. Tuesday — Chad C. Downey, 30, of Evans City was caught allegedly shoplifting $286 in merchandise from the Walmart at Butler Commons. Police said Downey was spotted filling an Igloo cooler with the store items.The suspect was later searched and also found with a suspected marijuana pipe.Downey is charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.11:08 a.m. Tuesday — A box truck driven by Charles Peffer, 61, of Harmony struck a car on Route 422 east near the Lyndora exit. Patricia Munsse, 58, of Virginia was driving the car.
Monday — A black Apple iPod and a white phone charger were stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Woodland Avenue. The theft occurred Sunday or Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
5:08 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Elmer C. Scherder, 47, of Parker struck a guardrail at Route 8 and Hill Top Road in Center Township. Police cited Scherder for careless driving.10:08 p.m. Tuesday — Justin M. Sanderson, 24, of Butler lost control of his car and struck a guardrail on Route 308 just north of Surface Mine Road in Cherry Township. Sanderson fled the scene after the crash. The next day he notified police of the wreck.Police said Sanderson faces a list of unspecified traffic violations.3:21 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Johnathon J. Reisinger, 23, of Franklin, Venango County, collided with a pickup truck on Route 8 just north of Sutherland Road in Mercer Township. Terry L. McDougall, 50, of Harrisville was the other driver.Police cited Reisinger for driving at an unsafe speed and McDougall for driving with a suspended license.Monday — An unknown thief stole suitcases and assorted clothing from an unlocked car at a home on Mahood Road in Center Township. The theft happened between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.1:18 a.m. June 18 — Justin Pflueger, 31, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the 900 block of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township.June 17 — Police charged Lorraine A. Durham, 49, of Butler with stealing a $115 tax return check from a neighbor's apartment building on Walker Avenue in Butler earlier this year.Surveillance video showed her cashing the check on March 3 at a Butler County bank, according to court documents.Durham is charged with forgery and theft.12:05 p.m. June 7 — Sport utility vehicles driven by Lorenzo J. Randolph, 56, of North Versailles, Allegheny County, and Jack D. Phelps, 36, of Pittsburgh collided on Interstate 79 just north of Ehrman Road in Cranberry Township.
