Armstrong Comfort Solutions and Matt Mertz Plumbing of Pittsburgh have merged to provide plumbing, and heating and cooling services throughout Western Pennsylvania.

The merger completed Oct. 29 expands Armstrong Comfort Solutions' presence in Pittsburgh and areas south, while bringing Matt Mertz's capabilities to Butler and surrounding counties.

Mertz is a lifelong plumber who started his business from scratch, said Kathie O'Hara, Armstrong spokeswoman.

Among the features of Mertz's business that Armstrong values is the ability to repair sewer lines without digging a trench to reach the pipe.
