BUTLER TWP — Luke Ostermeyer and Shawn Gray both shot 87 for Butler County Community College in its season-opening golf match against Garrett Community College recently.

Neither team had enough golfers to post a team score. Julia Fischer added a 104 and Kyle Mudger a 127 for BC3.

Zach Harvey and Brady Merrick were co-medalists for Garrett with 80.

[naviga:h3]Freeport grad Mason earns PAC honors[/naviga:h3]

SAINT VINCENT — Freeport graduate Hannah Mason, a freshman defensive specialist on the Saint Vincent College women’s volleyball team, has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.

Mason had a team-best 54 digs and 19 kills in the St. Vincent’s Bearcat tournament. She had 25 digs against Allegheny College.
