State Police, Butler2:29 p.m. Sunday — Police charged Alex Nagy, 27, of Carnegie, Pa., with indirect criminal contempt and placed him in the Butler County Prison after a traffic stop on Whitestown Road in Butler Township. Police said during the stop an officer found that Nagy was violating a protection from abuse order held by a 22-year-old Butler woman. The woman was driving the vehicle police that was stopped, and was issued a warning for an equipment violation and a citation for a child safety seat violation.12 p.m. Sunday — Police said someone broke into an unlocked vehicle parked outside a home on the 1,000-block of Kiester Road in Cherry Township, and stole clothing, gift cards and a vehicle rotor. Anyone with information should contact state police at 724-284-8100.2:12 a.m. Sunday — Police arrested a 26-year-old Slippery Rock woman on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Route 8 at Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said charges will be filed.12:30 p.m. Saturday — A 20-year-old man was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with a possible concussion after crashing a dirt bike at Switchback Racetrack on William Flinn Highway in Clay Township. Emergency responders say the man was conscious and complaining of neck and back pain before being taken to the hospital. State police had not released additional information on the crash as of this morning.12 p.m. Saturday — Police said someone broke into Furey’s Market through an apparently unlocked door and stole 38 packs of cigarettes, 11 boxes of pizza burgers and five bags of snack sticks. Anyone with information should contact state police in Butler.1:40 p.m. Friday — Police said someone broke into three apartments at Briarhill Apartments on Grove City Road, and fled with cash and gift cards. Police said one victim spotted a person wearing black and fleeing on foot toward Glacial Till Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police in Butler.8:14 p.m. Thursday — Police will charge William M. Skiles, no age or address given, with driving under the influence after his vehicle left the road and hit a ditch in the area of Route 356 south of Winfield Road in Winfield Township.3:27 p.m. Thursday — A person was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital following a vehicle accident at the intersection of Branchton Road and Route 8.The accident involved one overturned vehicle, according 911 reports.Emergency crews were at the scene for more than two hours. State police had not yet issued information on the accident as of this morning.2:07 a.m. Thursday — Police arrested Chris A. Drake, 52, of Emlenton for driving under the influence after responding to a one-vehicle crash on Route 38 in the area of Stone Church Road in Allegheny Township.11:55 p.m. Wednesday — Police said Sandra D. Woolfork, 53, of Elyria, Ohio, was driving south on the Interstate 79 interchange from Route 422 when she apparently had a medical issue which caused her Kia Soul to hit a concrete barrier. Police said Woolfork suffered minor injuries in the crash.7:30 a.m. Dec. 17 — Police said a 32-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman stole an air compressor from an unlocked truck inside a garage on the 400-block of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township. Police said their ongoing investigation includes other possible burglaries in Butler Township, Butler and Buffalo Township.9:30 p.m. Dec. 2 — Police arrested Gary L. Swidzinski, 63, of Butler, for DUI after a traffic stop on Evans City Road in Butler Township.
State Police, Mercer1:19 p.m. Dec. 5 — Police charged Sawyer L. Lawson, 19, of 5 Simons Road, Mercer, and Luke D. Slye, 19, of Stoneboro, with retail theft after they allegedly stole cigarettes from the Dollar General in Stoneboro.
State Police, Kittanning5:32 p.m. Friday — Police cited a 54-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, both of Worthington, after a domestic dispute at a home on the 100-block of Beagle Club Road in West Franklin Township.
