CRANBERRY TWP — The southern part of the township dealt with a “large scale power outage” Tuesday affecting traffic signals and businesses.

The township sent several alerts starting at 10:10 a.m. notifying residents to use caution when driving on Route 19 and treat any stoplights that are not working as four-way stops.

The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to help with traffic control. The township library was briefly closed, but reopened when power was restored to the township building on Rochester Road around 11:15 a.m.

As of 11:30 this morning the majority of residents and businesses in the area have had their power restored.
