Vehicle crashes into house

A vehicle crashed into the house at 2319 Kittanning Pike about 1:30 p.m. today, leaving the home unliveable.

A STAT MedEvac helicopter landed to take at least one person to a hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

The vehicle crashed into the front porch, destroying it, according to homeowner Darryl Everett Sr.

Everret was at work when the accident happened but said he believes there was only one person involved in the accident. He also said the state police did not know the man's condition on Wednesday night.

The home has been condemned until it can be repaired and inspected again, Everett said. While no damage estimate was immediately available, the home is insured.

“You can see daylight from the inside out ... but what happened, happened,” Everett said.

The gas and electric to the home were shut off, and West Penn Power responded to the scene.
