2:52 a.m. June 11 — Mason D. Hodgkiss, 29, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after police say they found him slumped over the wheel of a car at West New Castle Street and Wyle Avenue. The car was on the wrong side of the road and it had struck a curb. Police subsequently took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which he refused, according to court documents. He is charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license.
7:31 p.m. June 8 — Carlos A. Medina, 38, of Butler was allegedly caught with marijuana and other drug contraband after police were called for a trespass complaint at a home on the 400 block of West Diamond where his girlfriend’s lives. Officers found Medina near the home. A search turned up suspected marijuana, a glass smoking pipe and a marijuana grinder, according to court documents. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and trespass.
June 8 — Police charged Shannon L. Winters, 38, of Boyers with drugged driving stemming from an incident last month on Center Avenue. While answering a call about 4:10 p.m. May 9 for a possibly impaired driver at Main and Cunningham streets, officers found Winters passed out in a parked car, which was running, at a store on Center Avenue. Winters told police that she had taken heroin in the past hour, according to court documents, and she had pulled over to sleep. She also allegedly had heroin and five empty stamp bags. Police took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed she had metabolites of heroin as well as other opioids in her system, documents said.
She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
8:25 p.m. June 7 — Dakota R. Shay, 22, of Butler was allegedly found with marijuana and a marijuana pipe after police say they spotted him urinating in the area of East Vogely and South McKean streets. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.
10:04 p.m. June 4 — Ronald P. Supples, 58, of Butler was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop on West Penn Street at Olive Street. A breath test later indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.136 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
In addition to DUI, Supples is charged with following too closely to another vehicle and driving with a faulty brake light.
June 1 — Steve M. Selfridge, 42, of Butler was charged with causing a disturbance last month at the Sunoco gas station on West Jefferson Street. Police said Selfridge blew smoke from a marijuana cigarette in the faces of a clerk and customers about 5:20 p.m. May 15.
He also is accused of knocking over a display of soda pop before picking up a two-liter pop bottle and throwing it on the floor, according to court documents. He allegedly grabbed some Bic lighters and left the store without paying for the merchandise
Selfridge was later identified and he is charged with disorderly conduct, retail theft and criminal mischief.

2:55 p.m. Wednesday — No one was injured when vehicles driven by Sally Bennethum, 76, of Fombell, Beaver County, and Donald Hutchens, 70, of Lyndora, collided at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Both vehicles had to be towed.
[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]
Friday — A 15-year-old Slippery Rock boy is accused of threatening and harassing a 15-year-old girl, and sending nude images to the girl’s father. Police noted that most of the offenses occurred in Grove City. Police did not identify the boy, who is facing charges of terroristic threats, transmission of sexually explicit images and harassment in Mercer County juvenile court.
