Butler adds 10 COVID cases over weekend
Butler County added 10 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
According to the state Health Department report, updated at noon Sunday, Butler County has tallied 715 confirmed and 65 probable cases since January.
The death toll remained at 18.
Friday’s confirmed case total was also updated to 11, breaking a streak of single-digit daily cases in the county that dated back to Aug. 13.
Pennsylvania added 1,517 cases over the weekend and 38 deaths since Friday.
Allegheny County saw nine of those deaths.
None of the other counties surrounding Butler added a death.
Nationwide, the case total approached 6 million Sunday with 5,991,110 cases reported by the CDC.
There were 44,258 new cases Saturday into Sunday afternoon when the report was updated at 2 p.m.
The country’s death toll rose by 830 Saturday to 182,700.
