Man sentenced for terroristic threats

A Millerstown man was sentenced Thursday to jail for threatening to kill a manager of a Dollar General on Parker Pike.

Curtis Benson, 30, of Millerstown, will serve nine to 18 months in jail for terroristic threats. He will also be on probation for 30 months and must pay $372 to the victim and $414 to the state of Pennsylvania.

Benson was originally charged with punching a trooper in the face and attempting to hit a municipal police officer with a piece of steel rebar during an altercation last year in Parker Township.

State police were called to the store around 11:45 a.m. July 20 for a report of a belligerent man.

According to the investigation, Benson told the manager, a woman, that he was going to kill her. Documents indicate he also swung a piece of metal shelving at her.
