Car hits man walking on New Castle Road
BUTLER TWP — A 41-year-old Butler man was injured Saturday evening after a car struck him as he walked on New Castle Road near the Sheetz store.
Jason M. Robbins was apparently crossing the road around 6:10 p.m. when he was struck by a 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Paula Krapf, 70, of Butler, which was traveling east on the road.
Police said Robbins was wearing dark clothing and not using a crosswalk. He complained of pain on his right side, and was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. His condition Monday was not known.
Krapf told officers that she had just left Moraine Pointe Plaza and believed she struck another vehicle. She pulled into the Sheetz store parking lot, according to a police report.
Moments later, police said, Robbins walked up to her car and told her that she hit him. Police said they spoke to a witness as part of their investigation.
Robbins was cited for pedestrians failing to yield the right of way. Police also cited Krapf for driving an unregistered vehicle.
