Butler outscored host Altoona 20-8 in the second quarter and posted a 59-47 girls basketball victory Saturday night.

The Lady Lions had won nine straight games to begin the season — eight of those contests on the road — before dropping consecutive home games over the weekend. Bishop McCort handed Altoona a 63-59 loss Friday.

The Golden Tornado (9-1) have lost only to two-time defending Virginia state champion St. Paul VIthis season.

Olivia Bresnahan and Casie Cygan scored 20 points each for Butler. Bresnahan also limited high-scoring Altoona guard Shelby Reimer to six points.

Jenna Manuel added 12 points for the Tornado.

Lysa Mealing scored 17 points for Altoona.
