Butler Police7:22 a.m. Monday — Nathanyal Patterson, 30, of Butler, was arrested after he was allegedly caught inside a vacant neighbor’s home on College Street. Police allege he manipulated the lock box on the door to get into the home.Officers were called for a burglary in progress and they found the side door wide open, police said. Moments later, they spotted a man climb out of an upstairs window and make his way on the side roof area.Police ordered the man, later identified as Patterson, back into the home. While being taken to the police car, according to court documents, he stated “how embarrassed he was to break into a residence to drink alcohol.”The defendant was arraigned on a felony charge of trespass. He was later released on nonmonetary bond.

Butler Twp Police3:04 p.m. Monday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash on New Castle Road at the Monroe Muffler shop. The wreck occurred when Nicholas D. Scott 35, of Butler rear-ended a vehicle driven by Diane Arnold, 61, of Butler. That collision pushed Arnold’s vehicle into a vehicle driven by Matthew Pipp, 28, of Butler.Police cited Scott for driving too fast for conditions.3:45 p.m. Jan. 28 — Paul W. Heuer, 70, of Harmony was injured in a vehicle collision on Hansen Avenue at the Lyn-Mar Plaza. The crash occurred when he turned in front of vehicle driven by Nicole West, 30, of Butler.Police said Heuer suffered a hand injury and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles had to be towed and the crash closed Hansen Avenue from Whitestown Road to Woodrow Street for about 30 minutes.Heuer was cited for failing to yield the right of way.9:03 p.m. Jan. 25 — Police arrested a Crawford County man after officers were called to a home on Cantrell Street for a report of a man outside fighting and screaming at the occupants.Police got there and found the suspect, Timothy A. Mailliard, 50, of Cochranton, in the home’s yard. He claimed several females in the home had beaten him. Police said he appeared to be intoxicated.He was arrested and taken to the police station before being released to a friend. Mailliard is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

State Police, Butler1:39 a.m. Jan. 30 — Rachel Sharlow, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on the 500 block of Morton Avenue in Butler. Charges are pending lab results.Jan. 24 — An unknown burglar broke into a house on the 200 block of Rustic Ridge Lane in Summit Township. The burglary occurred between Jan. 17 and 24. The home belongs to a 71-year-old East Butler woman. A police report provided no other information.9:48 p.m. Jan. 21 — A 26-year-old Prospect woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Pleasant Valley Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police did not release the name of the woman, who admitted to smoking marijuana before she was stopped. Charges are pending lab results.6:26 p.m. Jan. 19 — An unknown driver did not stop after crashing a sport utility vehicle on Route 68 east of Magnolia Road in Fairview Township. Police believe the driver locked the brakes of the vehicle, slid off the road and onto a yard on the 2100 block of Route 68 before rolling over one time, landing on its wheels.An examination of the debris left behind, according to a police report, found that the unidentified vehicle is a 1999-2004 model Chevrolet Tracker, possibly black.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

State Police, Kittanning10:57 p.m. Jan. 24 — A 44-year-old Karns City woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs following a one-vehicle wreck in Bradys Bend Township. Police did not release the name of the woman, who crashed a sport utility vehicle into a ditch on Rohrbach Road.
