CENTER TWP — Marijuana plants and a grow light, empty bags of suspected heroin, people hiding in the attic and basement, and a set of brass knuckles.

That's some of what state police found at a two-story home on North Maple Drive in Center Township where they went last week with a mental-health warrant for the home's occupant, 27-year-old Ashley N. Fuller.

She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital before ending up in Butler County Prison on felony and other drug charges. She remains behind bars on $30,000 bail while awaiting a court hearing next week.

Troopers showed up at Fuller's house about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28 and advised her about the warrant they had for her, according to court documents. She told them she was willing to go to the hospital.

Police noticed fresh blood on her arms, which they say she indicated was from having recently injected heroin.

Looking in through a window, one of the officers saw what appeared to be a drug-smoking pipe on the kitchen table. She allowed police to enter her home.

Police found drug packaging materials on the coffee table, documents said. Also in the living room were metal knuckles, which are illegal in Pennsylvania, and a 23-year-old man trying to hide near a couch.

While conducting a protective sweep of the home, police said, troopers found another 23-year-old man hiding in the basement and a 22-year-old man hiding in the attic.

Police said Andre C. Barrow of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, the man in the basement, was wanted on a warrant in his home county. He was arrested and eventually turned over to Allegheny County authorities.

During the sweep, according to investigators, two marijuana plants and a grow light were uncovered in an upstairs bedroom closet.

Police subsequently got a search warrant for the house. Along with the plants, light, brass knuckles, pipe and packaging materials, troopers seized a baggie containing suspected marijuana and a bag with suspected marijuana stems and leaves.

Also confiscated were two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, a digital scale, syringe and metal spoon.

Fuller was arraigned on felony and misdemeanor drug possession charges, misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited offensive weapons. She was booked into the prison Friday.

Her preliminary hearing is set Feb. 13 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
