2:09 a.m. today — Shellie R. Bergbigler, 42, of Lyndora was arrested for driving under the influence after her sport utility vehicle struck and sheared off a utility pole along Hansen Avenue at the city-township line.A breath test showed Bergbigler's blood-alcohol level was 0.13 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law. Police said she is charged with DUI and careless driving.8:39 p.m. Thursday — Shawnna M. Bastian, 19, of Renfrew was caught allegedly shoplifting $55 worth of cosmetics from the Family Dollar store at Pullman Square. A search of her purse turned up a suspected crack cocaine pipe and other drug contraband, a police report said.Bastian faces charges of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.Wednesday — Police charged Jessica M. Hart, 22, with misdemeanor drug possession stemming from a suspected heroin overdose about 10 p.m. Sunday at her home in the 300 block of South Monroe Street.Police said when officers got there a medical crew was performing CPR on Hart, who was in a second-floor bedroom. She was revived after being administered the opiate overdose antidote naloxone.While there, police noticed a syringe on the bed beside Hart, and another syringe on the floor, according to court documents. A stamp bag of suspected heroin was on the night stand next to the bed.She later admitted to police that she injected two bags of heroin in the bedroom and “that is the last thing she remembers,” documents said.Hart is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Thursday — A burglar stole a safe from a home in the 100 block of Crisswell Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.4:28 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Dalton Best, 22, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a traffic light on New Castle Road at Alameda Park Road. Ken Prokopachak, 46, of Mars was the other driver.2:36 a.m. May 21 — A car driven by Dean Minto, 44, of East Butler crashed into two trees along Meridian Road. Minto told police that he lost control of his vehicle after swerving to avoid a deer.Officers later found a 40-ounce beer bottle that Minto allegedly threw from his car into a yard near the crash.Minto was cited for littering, having an open container of alcohol in his car and driving without insurance.

11 p.m. Wednesday — Sarah L. Johns, 22, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police received reports that she stole a crosswalk warning sign on Madison Avenue.In addition to DUI, police said Johns faces charges of theft and disorderly conduct.Wednesday — Trenton Stearns, 18, of Grove City was arrested on charges he stole $620 after breaking into a home in the 300 block of State Street about 11 a.m. May 6.He was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass and theft, and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.9:45 p.m. Tuesday — Dylan W. Funk, 19, of Grove City was cited for underage possession of alcohol after he was stopped for speeding on West Main Street. Police said they found a case of beer in Funk's vehicle. The teen also was cited for speeding.

Thursday — Elizabeth A. Riggle, 54, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from her arrest last week for a probation violation.Probation officers on May 22 took Riggle into custody after they went to her apartment in the 600 block of Bessemer Avenue in Lyndora for a home compliance check and found suspected drug contraband.The task force was notified and seized four syringes, a metal spoon and a partially full bag of suspected heroin.Riggle was placed in the Butler County Prison for the probation violation.

10:11 a.m. Thursday — Joshua T. Leonard, 23, of Slippery Rock was found with suspected marijuana following a traffic stop at Routes 422 and 528 in Prospect. Police said he is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.
