An Erie County man, charged in Butler along with two of his siblings, pleaded guilty Tuesday to methamphetamine distribution and was sentenced to state prison in Butler County Court.

Jonah A. Post, 35, of Waterford pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance before President Judge Thomas Doerr.

Post was then immediately sentenced to a total of 3 to 7½ years in state prison. That sentence will run after a 9-month parole violation sentence he is currently serving, which will end in July, according to his attorney Bobette Magnusen.

Post was charged by Butler police after an incident Nov. 7 at 309 W. Cunningham St., after police said a methamphetamine lab was discovered at an apartment following a report of a fight.

He was initially charged with felony possession with intent, operating a methamphetamine lab, risking a catastrophe, conspiracy and possessing methamphetamine precursors, as well as misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea.

He was charged alongside his siblings, Jesse J. Post, 37, also of Waterford, Erie County; and Sarah R. Post, 41, of Butler; as well as Christopher R. Bedner, 51, and Thomas J. Clark, 25, also of Butler. Police said Sarah Post and Bedner live at the apartment where the items were found.

The raid occurred after a reported fight, where the alleged victim told police that he showed up looking for his girlfriend, who he knew was doing drugs in the apartment. He reported that he was jumped and robbed of his cell phone.

Police said an informant had also given credible evidence that the tenants of the apartments were making meth. The informant related that a woman he knew as “Sarah” was “making meth and selling meth and heroin” from the apartment, police said.

City officers, aided by Butler Township police and the state police clandestine lab team, executed a search warrant and seized potentially dangerous and hazardous materials used to cook methamphetamine.

Also confiscated was suspected meth, heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, as well as other contraband including more than 100 syringes and a scale, police said.

Sarah Post previously pleaded guilty in the case, as well as three unrelated drug cases, and will be sentenced after she is evaluated for the state Intermediate Punishment program.

Jesse Post awaits further court proceedings after being released on $5,000 bail. Clark remains held on $100,000 bail pending further court proceedings. Bedner pleaded guilty and was admitted into the county Drug Treatment Court and was released to an inpatient treatment program.
