CRANBERRY TWP — The recently formed fire and emergency services department gained an employee Thursday night when the board of supervisors approved several personnel changes.

One new position was added to the payroll, said Jerry Andree, township manager, but the fire and emergency services department will have two new faces.

Jeff Gooch will move over to the new fire risk reduction coordinator position in the fire and emergency services department of the township. He currently works as a desktop administrator in the township's IT department. Gooch will start in his new position Aug. 1 at a rate of $29.825 an hour.

Gooch is first captain in the fire company and has a bachelor's in public administration-fire service administration and an associate's in computer forensics.

Amy Behun took over the role of fire and emergency services administrative assistant from Mark Nanna, with the added responsibility of recruiter. She started June 26 at a rate of $22.125 an hour.

Behun, a Cranberry Township firefighter, has 20 years of experience in fire and EMS and 18 years of experience in customer service and financial analysis. She has a master's in organizational leadership and numerous fire service certifications.

Nanna moved to the fire prevention EMA administrator position in the develop and code services department. He'll start in that position July 10 at a rate of $25.50 an hour.

The need for these new and adjusted positions was realized through the fire company's strategic plan that was completed last year, Andree said. They will all work out of the fire company's Park Station building on Route 19.
