Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger reports general Pennsylvania hunting licenses for the 2016-17 season will go on sale Monday across the state.

The state Game Commission has increased transaction fees for all licenses. The cost of a resident antlerless license is $6.90. Nonresident licenses are $26.90.

The county treasurer’s office will begin accepting applications for Pennsylvania resident antlerless deer licenses by mail only on July 11.

The office recommends mailing applications no earlier than July 8. According to game commission rules, any resident applications received before July 11 will be returned unprocessed.

Any checks received for the wrong amount will be returned unprocessed.

Nonresidents may apply for an antlerless license one week earlier than in the past. The treasurer’s office will begin accepting nonresident applications July 18.

Landowner antlerless licenses must be issued before the start of the regular application period, with the last day to buy a landowner doe license being July 8. These licenses are available only at the county treasurer’s office, located on the first floor of the Butler County Government Center, 124 W. Diamond St.
