Buffalo gets Burger King
BUFFALO TWP — The South Pike Square shopping center will be home to the Whopper later this year.
The township supervisors on Wednesday approved a subdivision allotting nearly an acre to a Burger King fast food restaurant off Route 356.
The Patterson-Erie Corporation, the developer and franchise owner, expects to begin construction in roughly three months.
According to a statement from Keith Egyed, PEC operating partner, “The permit process is time-consuming and varies with each project. While we are close to securing all necessary permits, we have a few more items to complete. Once those are finalized, we hope to begin construction, which we anticipate will take about 90 days.”
Township Supervisor John Haven, board chairman, said the company already dealt with exterior lighting issues in its original development plan.
“That's all worked out,” Haven said.
He said the lights had to be adjusted.
“You don't want to shine on other people's property,” Haven said.
Patterson-Erie also operates Burger King restaurants in Ohio.
“As an operator of over 30 Burger King restaurants, we are excited for the opportunity to build in the Sarver area,” according to Egyed's statement.
