Tuesday — Ronald G. Moore, 70, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence in connection with a crash last month at Litman and Old Plank roads. Police said he lost control of his vehicle about 8:45 p.m. Dec. 12 and traveled into a ditch. He was not injured but his vehicle had to be pulled out of the ditch.Tuesday — Dennis R. John Jr., 45, of Butler was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended license stemming from a traffic stop about 1:50 p.m. Jan. 2 on Route 422. Police also cited John for speeding, careless driving and reckless driving.6:48 p.m. Monday — Briena R. Dermond, 19, of Butler allegedly took $174 from a man's missing wallet at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police said the man lost his wallet at the store and Dermond had turned in it. Later, police discovered she had taken the money, according to a police report. Dermond is charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft of lost or mislaid property and receiving stolen property.Jan. 14 — Police charged a Beaver County man with driving on drugs stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. The defendant, Zachary G. Kriger, 26, of Aliquippa, was stopped shortly after 7 p.m. Dec. 9 after a near collision with a patrol trooper's cruiser on North Main Street in the area of Manor Drive.Kriger, who was found to be wanted for an arrest warrant in Beaver County, according to court documents, was searched and found with a glass smoking pipe and plastic straw. Police said he admitted to smoking cocaine and snorting cocaine several hours before the traffic stop.The suspect was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology reports, documents said, showed he had several drugs in his system including chlordiazepoxide, benzoylecgonine, hrdroxyzine and fentanyl.Kriger is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving without a license, disregarding traffic lanes, making an improper left turn, failing to use turn signals and careless driving.
