Aug. 11 — Police charged Hezekiah L. Myers, 18, of Butler with causing $3,450 in damage last month to the city-owned parking garage at South McKean and East Cunningham streets. He is accused of damaging nine lightning rods on top of the garage July 19.Myers also was allegedly found with a marijuana pipe. He is charged with a second-degree misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.Additionally, police said, three boys — a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, both of Butler, and a 17-year-old from Mars — are facing misdemeanor criminal mischief charges in Butler County juvenile court in connection with the suspected vandalism.11:13 p.m. Aug. 9 — Haley R. Dunbar, 23, of Butler was arrested after she allegedly pointed a handgun at another woman during an incident on the 200 block of South Cliff Street. No one was injured.Dunbar had a carry permit for the pistol, which did not have a round in the chamber, according to court documents. There were three bullets in the magazine. She is charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.Aug. 7 — Roy E. Shankle, 56, of Butler was charged with using a baseball bat to smash a window at a property owned by Alpine Apartments on East Wayne Street. Damage in the incident around 4:45 p.m. July 21 was placed at $516.74.Shankle is charged with a third-degree misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.
4:34 a.m. Saturday — Michael A. Graham, 32, of Butler lost control of his pickup truck and struck a ditch on West Slippery Rock Road just west of Cottonwood Road in Fairview Township. He was not injured, but his truck had to be towed.1:15 p.m. Thursday — No one was injured when a car driven by Cody M. Becker, 29, of Butler rear-ended a sport utility vehicle that was stopped in traffic on Mercer Road at Margate Drive in Center Township. Lisa M. Sutton, 48, of Boyers was the other driver.Both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Becker for driving too closely to another vehicle and driving an unregistered vehicle.6:08 a.m. Wednesday — One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 356 near Rennick Road in Jefferson Township. The crash occurred when a car driven by Patti Hemphill, 65, of Butler struck a utility truck driven by Benjamin D. Matta, 29, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County.Hemphill's passenger, Travis B. Morris, 44, of Butler, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor shoulder pain. Police cited Hemphill for passing in a no-passing zone.11:30 a.m. Aug. 1 — A Cumberland County man was injured when he lost control of his pickup and traveled into an embankment on Leisie Road in Forward Township. The driver, Ali J. Jabari, 30, of Camp Hill, suffered a leg injury, but refused medical treatment. The truck had to be towed.10:41 a.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Arlene M. Kinney, 56, of Butler and a minivan driven by Julie L. Cranmer, 51, of Chicora collided at East Slippery Rock and Spring streets in Chicora. No injuries were reported. The van had to be towed. Police cited Kinney for failing to yield the right of way.2:10 p.m. Aug. 8 — Harold R. Bennett, 65, of Butler was knocked unconscious when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Route 58 at Van Dyke Road in Marion Township. Bennett, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.The Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
