Butler grabs title
Jeremiah Bortmas (152 pounds), Ryan Hannon (170) and Will Bortmas (220) each went 5-0 to lead Butler's wrestling team to the championship of the William Jenkins Duals at Penn State-Fayette on Saturday.
Hannon and Will Bortmas both tallied four pins and Jeremiah Bortmas three pins at the event, which featured 16 teams.
Butler's road to the team title included wins over Baldwin (72-5), Southmoreland (55-22), Penn-Trafford (36-29), Upper St. Clair (43-28) and Hempfield (38-32).
Going 4-1 for the Golden Tornado were Scott Dietrich (120), Cody Houston (138), Alex White (195) and J.D. Bojanac (285).
Zach Hunka compiled a 3-1 record at 145 pounds while Connor Foust (126) and Justin Johnson (182) both went 3-2.
Butler (16-5) wrestles at West Allegheny on Tuesday.

Mars senior forward Nick Makozy scored one goal and added three assists to help the Southwest team capture a 9-6 win in the PIHL Class A all-star game at Robert Morris University's Island Sports Center.Three other Mars players aided the victory. Beau Heakins scored a goal while Craig Mazzotta and Ian Newman both had an assist.For the Northeast, Freeport's Michael Frazetta scored two goals and Brendon Zack tallied one.Hunter Kepple and Cole Hepler also represented the Yellowjackets well, both tallying an assist.In the Class AAA contest, Butler goalie Logan Rothbauer made 11 saves to help the Northeast defeat the Southwest 3-2 in overtime.
