Butler Twp. OKs plans for Eat'n Park

BUTLER TWP — The township planning commission Tuesday approved subdivision and land development plans for a new Eat'n Park on New Castle Road.

The plans involve building an Eat'n Park on a lot adjacent to the existing restaurant where a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant is located but will be demolished. The township commissioners will consider final approval of the plans.

The subdivision consolidates lots at 212 and 214 New Castle Road into one measuring about 1.9 acres.

Representatives from Eat'n Park told the planning commission that the existing restaurant will remain open while the new one is under construction and will be demolished after the new restaurant is open. Construction is expected to begin in January.

Four light poles will be installed in the parking lot, and the building will have exterior lighting. The commission made its approval contingent on the restaurant obtaining approval of its sewage system and erosion and sedimentation permit, and posting a security bond. The Garber Family Limited Partnership of Santa Barbara, Calif., owns the properties where the Eat'n Park and Kentucky Fried Chicken are. Kentucky Fried Chicken plans to build a new restaurant at 218 New Castle Road.
