Evan Knox and Melanie Shoup

An April 17 wedding is being planned by Melanie Shoup and Evan Knox, both of Schenectady, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Suzy and Randy Shoup of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Kenny and Cheryl Knox of Karns City.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Butler High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She is a doctoral candidate and an instructor at The University at Albany-New York.

Her fiance graduated in 2001 from Karns City High School and in 2005 from Thiel College. He is a certified teacher in New York and Pennsylvania, a Clifton Park soccer coach and manager at Dick's Sporting Goods.
