Makenzie Smith and Vincent Simmon Jr.

A July wedding is planned by Makenzie Smith of Pittsburgh and Lt. Vincent Simmon Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Tammy Smith of Butler. Father of the prospective bridegroom is Vincent Simmon of Newport Beach, Calif.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Butler High School. She will graduate in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from Point Park University.

Her fiance graduated in 2002 from the Marine Military Academy and in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in social and decision sciences from Carnegie Mellon University. He is an operations officer in the United States Navy in Virginia Beach.
