Alice E. Kurn
Alice E. Kurn, 80, of Penn Township, formerly of Natrona Heights, died Thursday in Shelbourne Assisted Living Home in Penn Township.
Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Brackenridge, she was the daughter of Edwin and Dorothy R. Buckley Southward.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church of Brackenridge. She was a 1942 graduate of Har-Brack High School. She also enjoyed card-playing and her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise M. Stilley and her husband, John M., of 131 Blackthorn Drive in Butler; two grandsons, Jacob J. Stilley and his wife, Karen, of Oakmont, and Jamie G. Stilley of Penn Township; a granddaughter, Maggie A. Stilley of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Dorothy Runco and her husband, Victor, of Hudson, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Kurn; a twin sister, Catherine E. Rusiewicz, who died Sept. 3, 2004; three sisters, Margaret Dupain, Ann Gelorme and Rachel Roll; and two brothers, Edwin and William Southward.
KURN - Friends of Alice E. Kurn, who died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, were received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today (Saturday) atDUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum. Services were held at noon today in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. The Rev. Gary D. Miller, rector of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Leechburg, and the Rev. Norman Koeler, rector of St. Andrew Episcopal Church in New Kensington, officiated. Burial was in Mt.
