Pets rescued in blaze
WASHINGTON TWP — Firefighters this morning saved 10 pets from a mobile home fire. Once crews arrived, they brought out three dogs and seven cats, including a litter, from the home at 205 Kane Lane.
The home sustained some smoke and fire damage from the fire that apparently started in the stove and spread to some cabinets, according to a firefighter at the scene.
A neighbor on Kane Lane reportedly spotted smoke coming from the trailer and called the county emergency center for help about 7 a.m.
None of the three occupants was at home at the time.
Fire officials identified the residents as Kent and Beth Craig and Margaret Burton at 205 Lane.
A state police fire marshal has been requested to establish the cause of the fire.
