Friday — Police charged Brandon A. Dolan, 25, with multiple misdemeanor drug charges, which include two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.According to charging documents, probation officers were checking on Dolan, who is on probation, and found drugs in his bedroom.Police said they found a small amount of marijuana, one pill identified as Suboxone and one plastic bag containing suspected crystal methamphetamine.Police said they also found many paraphernalia items, such as pipes, a razor blade and two operational digital scales.Dolan's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 10.
6:06 p.m. Sunday — Police arrested and charged Christine J. Taggart, 50, of Butler, with simple assault.According to charging documents, police reported to a home on American Avenue for a reported domestic dispute.Police said they talked with Taggart and the victim at the victim's home, which revealed the two had been arguing.According to police, the victim asked Taggart to leave multiple times before a physical confrontation ensued.Police said Taggart punched the victim in the face multiple times, injuring the victim's nose, lips and face.After her arrest, Taggart was taken to Butler County Prison to be held in lieu of $1,500 bail. Her preliminary hearing has not been scheduled.
4:49 p.m. Friday — Police arrested and charged Pariles Burgess, 52, of Pittsburgh, with misdemeanor retail theft.According to charging documents, police responded to a call at Walmart, where they met with an employee from the asset protection department.Police said Burgess was in the department's office when they arrived.The documents said asset protection told police that Burgess had a full cart of groceries and failed to scan all the items from her cart. Police said they confirmed the accusations through video surveillance footage.The documents said items worth $216.78 were recovered from Burgess, who has one prior conviction of retail theft.After her arrest, Burgess was sent to Butler County Prison to be held in lieu of $1,500 bail. Her preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 16.
Monday — Police charged Brandon T. Walsh, 28, of Butler, with a misdemeanor first-offense DUI and other related charges.According to charging documents, police were dispatched Feb. 10 for a one-vehicle car accident at North Duffy Road near Timothy Lane.Police said as they arrived on scene, they found a disabled and abandoned 2012 Subaru Legacy.According to documents, the police followed tire marks from the abandoned car to a home on Mercer Road that had a damaged porch and debris on the ground nearby. Police said they also found a damaged mailbox down the road.Police said they later found Walsh on Steelton Avenue, where he apparently was drunk. Police said Walsh admitted to driving and crashing the car on the road, but he did not remember hitting the porch.Documents said Walsh was arrested for DUI, and he later took a breath test which showed his blood-alcohol content at .147%. A blood-alcohol level of 0.8% is considered legally drunk.A preliminary hearing for Walsh has been scheduled for April 13.Monday — Police charged Timothy J. Biedenbach, 50, of Summit Township, with a first-offense DUI.According to charging documents, police were dispatched to an ATV crash around 2:37 a.m. Aug. 22.Police on the scene said they found an overturned Polaris ATV, and a Busch Light beer bottle next to it.Police said Biedenbach was injured in the crash, and they could smell an odor of alcohol from him.Documents said Biedenbach was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and then flown to Allegheny General Hospital.Police gained a warrant for Biedenbach's blood-alcohol content, which showed he had a BAC of .329%. A blood-alcohol level of 0.8% is considered legally drunk.Biedenbach's preliminary hearing has not been set.
7 p.m. Feb. 25 — Police allegedly received a report that Donnie Morton, 19, of Greenville, made multiple threats by phone and text messages to two victims.One of the victims was a 17-year-old Slippery Rock girl, and the other was an 18-year-old man from Greenville.According to court records, summary-offense harassment charges were filed against Morton in two cases, one for each victim.The records show the charges were filed March 1. Morton has yet to enter a plea.
