FRANKLIN TWP — State police have identified the two people killed shortly after noon Monday in a three-vehicle wreck.

Ronald J. Tokarchik Jr., 40, of Franklin Township and Mary Lou Berry, 52, of Clarion died at the scene of the violent collision on Route 422, near Route 488

Police believe that Tokarchik was speeding and driving erratically about 12:15 p.m. when his westbound 1994 Jeep Cherokee crossed into the opposing lane in front of Wiltrout Oil and struck the driver’s side of a tractor-trailer.

The Jeep continued west in the wrong lane before hitting head-on the eastbound 2011 Subaru Outback that Berry was driving.

Douglas R. Clawson, 53, of Homer City, Indiana County, who was driving the truck, was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
