Josh Sheppeck’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning proved to be the difference in Saxonburg’s 4-3 win over Center Township in Butler County Legion baseball play Thursday at Laura Doerr Park.

Taylor Sharer sparked Saxonburg at the plate with a single, triple and run scored. Mac Megahan pitched six innings for the win, striking out six.

Drew Holben pitched the final frame to earn a save for Saxonburg (10-3).

Joe DiMartino doubled and scored a run for Center Township.

• Alex Ziegler singled, doubled, tripled and scored three runs in Butler City’s 15-4 win over West Sunbury.

• Dane Petricelli added two singles for the victors, A.J. Barnett singled and scored a run, Caleb Natali singled and scored twice and Sheldon Hile had a base hit for Butler City (7-8).

The offense came in support of winning pitcher Tim Butler, who fanned 12 in a complete game.

Zack DiBiase singled and scored a run for West Sunbury.
