Christ Community U.M.Members of the fifth and sixth grade Sunday school class at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township, are accepting donations and sponsors for the annual 36-hour Rock-a-Thon, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday at the church. The class is hoping to purchase an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for the church and to assist with Project Hope in Zelienople. To pledge, contact any class member or call the church office.The Little Red Church will be on the altar during weekend worship services to collect funds for Human Relations Sunday.Blood pressure screenings will be available after all weekend services.Baptism will be observed during Sunday services. As a part of the service, all members will renew their baptismal covenant.The Handbell Choir will hold a reorganizational meeting at 10 a.m. Sunday. New members are invited.The 2007 flower charts are posted in the narthex. Members are asked to purchase altar flowers in honor or memory of loved ones or special occasions throughout the church year. Cost is $14.50 per vase.The winter session of "Come and Get It" begins Tuesday. Sessions are held from 6 to 8 p.m. Adult classes will feature a greeting-card-making class led by Jane Shively and a spiritual-gifts class led by the Rev. Mary Grey Emmett.Members planning to participate in the June mission trip to South Dakota should enroll and provide a $50 nonrefundable deposit by Sunday.The Nursery Team is collecting items to restock the church nursery. A wish list is published in the monthly newsletter. Donated items may be placed in a bin in the narthex or taken to the nursery.

Community LifeCommunity Life Church, McQuistion Elementary School, will host a youth group meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Butler County Family YMCA, 339 N. Washington St.

Christ's OutreachA meeting for all members of Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A fellowship dinner will be available prior to the meeting at 5:45. There will be no adult or Caravan Classes this Wednesday.Children's activities, hosted by the youth group, will be held in the gym during the meeting.

Covenant PresbyDavid Daugherty, of Wilmington, Del., formerly the director of music at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will be the guest organist and vocalist at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service.The Rev. William Jamison, retired Presbyterian minister, will lead the Seekers Class on Sunday with the presentation "Does Amos Speak to Us Today?" The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Assembly Room.Sunday is Hungry Sunday. Members and friends are to take a canned or packaged item or more for the Covenant Cupboard and a dollar or more for the Community Dinners.

Faith Fellowship AllianceFaith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will host a Marriage Builders couples series beginning Jan. 19. The sessions will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays. The group, led by Carl and Laurie Mueller will meet in the youth building.

Hill U.P.A new session of adult Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.Kids Club will begin a new seven-week session Feb. 7. Old Union PresbyA fellowship dinner will be held after worship this week at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Those who are able should take a dish to share.The Willing Workers are organizing a soup sale to raise money for the building project. The chicken will be prepared Jan. 25 and soup will be made on Jan. 26. There will be 250 quarts available and cost is $4 per quart.

The study focuses on the Book of Luke and meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday mornings.The Rev. Call will lead a new Sunday school class, "Who We Are," for six weeks beginning this Sunday. The class will meet in the choir room and is held as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Churches of Christ.A game night will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 27.
