Woman accused of taking Trump sign

A Butler woman is accused of swiping a campaign sign showing support for President Donald Trump. The alleged theft, which was captured on a security camera, happened three weeks after the election, authorities said.

City police Thursday charged 19-year-old Keanna E. McClain with a third-degree misdemeanor count of theft. The sign was valued at $50.

On Nov. 25, the victim reported the Trump sign was taken from the front of her house on the 400 block of Short Street in the city's Island neighborhood, police said. The owner also noted that she had surveillance footage of the incident.

The footage, police said, showed that McClain removed the sign from the victim's front yard about 5 p.m. on Nov. 25. Police said the sign was not recovered.

A preliminary hearing was not immediately scheduled.
