Sylvan moves to online learning
Sylvan Learning of Pittsburgh has rearranged its business delivery model to provide an online personal learning platform for students in kindergarten through grade 12.
“It’s been a difficult time for families, in particular those with school-age children,” said David Shilling, who runs the Sylvan Learning center in Cranberry Township. “These families are looking for solutions that allow them to continue to learn at home and to also continue to receive the supplemental education they were receiving from Sylvan.”
Sylvan Learning launched Sylvan Nation in 2018, a free online education portal with educational support tips, worksheets, resources for teachers and educational videos. Students also can access online workbooks through Random House.
Sylvan Learning recently pivoted to live, teacher-led online instruction through its proprietary technology platform SylvanSync. The brand also has repurposed paper-based content to be delivered online.
In Cranberry Township, Sylvan Learning is offering teacher-led, online small group instruction based on grade level and subject to help parents during the coronavirus pandemic.
