12:48 a.m. Tuesday - Calvin Pittman, 25, of 1002 S. Main St. was arrested for driving under the influence on East Jefferson Street.Pittman earlier had allegedly assaulted his wife, Bobbie Sue Pittman, during a dispute at the couple's home. Pittman was arraigned on charges of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.Tuesday - Two suspects were arrested stemming from the theft of items totaling more than $500 at six Butler stores.Michelle Wilson, 29, and David Robertson Jr., 23, both of 323A N. Bluff St., were nabbed after allegedly taking merchandise from the La Petitie Fleur store on South Main Street.Wilson is charged with six counts of retail theft, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance. Robertson is charged with four counts of retail theft and conspiracy. Wilson and Robertson were arraigned and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $3,000 and $2,500 bonds, respectively.The other stores are Friedman's, Dollar General, Reader's Paradise, Unicorn Gift Store and Vintage Clothesland.7:03 p.m. Monday - Cars driven by Harry Miller, 81, of Apollo, Armstrong County, and Nancy Corbett, 49, of Adrian, Armstrong County, collided at Jefferson and McKean streets. Miller was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.
2:30 a.m. Wednesday - a pickup truck driven by Mark Weyand, 37, of Butler veered off Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township, traveled through three yards and struck a tree. Weyand, who drove off after the crash, was later cited for accidents involving damage to unattended property. Police said Weyand, wearing a seat belt, suffered undisclosed injuries in the crash.Wednesday - Cars driven by Janice Covert, 32, of Renfrew and Nancy Keener, 48, of Cabot collided at Dinnerbell Road and Moraine Drive in Jefferson Township.Monday - Someone broke a glass door, causing about $350 in damage, at the Pioneer Drive-in refreshment stand in Center Township.3:41 a.m. Sunday - Todd Fair, 26, of Slippery Rock was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was found passed out in the driver's seat of his vehicle with the engine running on Route 8 in Center Township.12:12 Sunday - Jamie Slater, 18, of Butler lost control of his vehicle on St. Joe Road in Oakland Township and struck a utility pole. Slater, who was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.Sunday - Someone between 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday stole a mailbox and post at the Beaver Dam Road home of Burton Duerring in Clay Township.1:40 a.m. Saturday - Jeremy Ronald Szczygiel, 23, of Petrolia was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked following a traffic stop on Great Belt Road in Jefferson Township.Saturday - Two pairs of binoculars, a Sony camcorder, Nikon laser range finder, and a folding trailer hitch bumper rack were taken between 12:30 and 4 p.m. from a sport utility vehicle on Creed Road in Forward Township. Michael Rottman of Butler owns the stolen property, valued at $1,420.Oct. 28 - About $4,500 in small kitchen appliances and cookware as well as about 50 CDs were stolen from a storage unit along Hindman Lane in Connoquenessing Township between May 4 and Oct 28.According to state police the items were to be packaged, moved and stored along with other items owned by Sally Rosellini, 46, of Butler, by Hindman Moving & Storage.Rosellini reported that upon final receipt of her belongings from the company it was determined the items had been stolen.Anyone with any information is asked to call state police at 724-284-8100.
10:40 p.m. Tuesday - Todd Daly, 37, of Brackenridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he lost control of his vehicle on Route 268 in East Franklin Township. Daly's pickup truck struck a concrete barrier, flipped over and landed on its wheels and struck the barrier two more times before stopping. Daly was treated for a minor injury.6:04 p.m. Tuesday - Vehicles driven by Jodi Jenoresewski, 21, of Tarentum; Kathleen Dudley, 44, of Ford City; William Nickel, 48, of Cowansville and Kiersten Supik, 19, of Freeport collided on Route 28 in East Deer Township. All four drivers were wearing their seatbelts and no one was injured.2:20 a.m. Wednesday - Floyd Pile, 63, of Kittanning was charged with theft by unlawful taking after he stole $52 in change from a newspaper box outside the Kwik Fill along Route 422 in Manor Township.
Monday - Police are investigating a one-car accident that happened early that morning on George Junior Road. An unknown green vehicle hit a guard rail and then left the scene, causing damage and leaving some of its parts at the scene. The vehicle should have substantial damage to the front end. Anyone with information should contact borough police.Sunday - Two Christmas trees, each valued at $34, were stolen from Baer's County Corner on West Main Street between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:15 p.m. Sunday.Friday - Bill Isenberg, 36, of Boyers reported the taillights of his car were covered with a black paint while it was parked off Filer Alley behind Your Gym.Dec. 9 - Jennifer McCommon, 37, of Grove City, reported a burglary at the South Center Street duplex that she rents. Copper water pipes in the basement had been removed.Dec. 9 - Police arrested Harry J. Sleppy, 47, of 333 Edgewood Ave., for driving under the influence after the vehicle he was driving caught fire near Edgewood Avenue and Erie Street.Dec. 5 - Someone sprayed graffiti on the truck of Jerry L. Blaylock, 63, of Mesa, Ariz., at the Penn Grove Hotel on Pine Street. A damage estimate is unavailable.Dec. 4 - Police interrupted the attempted theft of an inflatable Spongebob Squarepants from the roof of the Burger King restaurant on West Main Street at 1:40 a.m. Burger King declined to press charges.Nov. 21 - Cesar Zendejas Cano, 24, of Salem, Ohio, was arrested for driving under the influence and limitations on driving on left side of road after a traffic stop on South Center Street.Nov. 20 - Someone hit the car of Margaret Williamson, 45, of 438 N. Center St., in the parking lot of the Colony Apartments. There was minor damage to the bumper.Nov. 19 - A pink wallet was stolen from Marjorie Bowers, 60, of Quinlan, Texas, while she was shopping at Dollar General.
