More plan info needed
EVANS CITY — A new housing development proposed at the southern intersection of Evans City and Forward and Jackson townships is already running into snags.
On Monday, Evans City officials said the developer needs to provide more information before the borough planning commission recommends land use approval. The proposed plan, tentatively known as the White Oak plan, is still in the preliminary stages of the approval process and was introduced to municipality planning commissions in January.
The plan calls for 58 units with a mix of single-family detached and attached, or duplex, units.
If approved, the plan would be built almost entirely in Forward Township and will lie south of Mars-Evans City Road and Evans City. Five lots will dip into Evans City and seven in Jackson Township.
Shelley Natali, Evans City councilman and planning commission member, said the plan also calls for its entrance to be in Evans City and for the Evans City Water and Sewer Authority to provide water and sewer service.
She said water and sewer authority officials have yet to receive an in-depth plan or proposal from the developer and that the planning commission has not recommended land use approval, asking for more information about the impact the plan would have on roads and water use.
