Children in the South Butler County School District who will turn 5 years old before Sept. 1 can be registered for kindergarten in the 2021-22 school year.

District officials announced Wednesday that children can be registered online between April 13 and 15 at southbutler.org.

Parents should click on “Primary School,” then “Resources,” then “kindergarten/new student registration.”

Documents required to register are proof of residency, child’s original birth certificate, immunization records and custody documents, if applicable.

A virtual Spring Fling to learn about South Butler Primary School and the district’s kindergarten program will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 15.

Teachers and administrators will be present to answer questions.

A kindergarten orientation will be held in August about one week prior to the start of the school year in which parents and children can meet the teacher.

Kindergartners will also have an opportunity to take a short ride on a school bus after the orientation.

The orientation date will be announced as the new school year nears.
