Clearview Federal Credit Union has launched Clearview Insurance Services, which provides the community with an alternative to shopping for insurance.

The new venture began offering credit union members and nonmembers insurance rates and policies March 25.

Clearview Insurance Services offers personal and commercial insurance including auto, home and life, general liability, commercial property and more.

The new company represents more than 40 different carriers and has 60 licensed agents. There is a branch at Butler Crossings in Butler Township.

A Cranberry Township engineering firm beat out 202 companies to earn a national award.Whitman, Requardt & Associates was awarded the National Recognition Award for exemplary engineering achievement in the American Council of Engineering Companies' 53rd annual Engineering Excellence Awards for designing the replacement of the Pulaski Bridge over Deer Creek in Pulaski Township, Beaver County.WRA was challenged with finding a cost-effective way to replace the bridge while protecting Deer Creek's trout habitat.Judging by a 35-member panel of experts took place in February. Award criteria focused on uniqueness and originality, technical innovation, social and economic value, and generating excitement for the engineering profession.

Sheetz has announced a new “scan and go” checkout for use by customers ordering drinks and other convenience items through the Sheetz app during the coronavirus pandemic. Scan and go will be available at all 600 Sheetz stores in the region, including those in Butler County.
