Census: Butler County's population up by 10K since 2010
Butler County’s population has grown since 2010, with an increase of just under 10,000 people, data released on Thursday from the 2020 census shows.
The total population of Butler County is 193,763, up from 2010 numbers at 183,862 and 174,083 in 2000. Growth this census cycle in the county outpaced the past census cycle slightly, by a measure of 122 people.
County Commissioner Chairwoman Leslie Osche said that there wasn’t any “great ah-ha” in the results on the county level.
“We’ve basically seen what we expected to see,” she said. “I don’t think it was a surprise, particularly as you watch the explosion of housing in the southern part of the county.”
