Convicted dealer faces more charges

Anthony McGuire

A convicted drug dealer serving a state prison sentence finds himself facing more felony drug charges.

State police last week filed two additional cases against 38-year-old Anthony S. McGuire in connection with a pair of alleged drug deals last year in Butler.

He is accused of selling crack cocaine to a police informant on Jan. 5 and Jan. 27, 2017.

McGuire is charged with two felony counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

Additionally, he is charged with two misdemeanor counts each of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Vice officers Feb. 22 obtained arrest warrants in the cases, but McGuire is being held the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill.

He was sentenced to 2 to 6 years in state prison Feb. 7 in Butler County Court in connection with several unrelated felony drug-related cases.

The sentence followed his guilty plea Jan. 29 to heroin distribution and other charges in incidents on Feb. 12, 2016, and March 27 and May 31, 2017, all in Butler.

His arraignment on the latest charges has not been scheduled.
