The following is a list of events in observance of Veterans Day in Butler County:
The North Trails Public Library and Friends of the Library, 1553 West Sunbury Road, are hosting a Veterans Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for any Butler County veteran. Interested veterans can register by calling 724-476-1006.Karns City Area High School, 1446 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, is hosting a lunch and assembly to honor veterans at noon. For more information, contact Amanda Walters at awalters@kcasdk12.org.The Butler County Community College library is hosting a viewing of the documentary “The Warrior Tradition” and two faculty presentations as part of their diversity, equity and inclusion initiative at 2:30 p.m. The documentary tells of Native American's service in the United States Military.
Butler County will hold it's annual Veterans Day Parade starting at 10:40 a.m. on Main Street in Butler. The parade will travel from north to south, ending at Diamond Park.Slippery Rock University is having a breakfast for veterans beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the SCC Ballroom. There will be a ceremony following the breakfast at the Ralph Wright Alumni House at 11 a.m. that will feature guest speaker Jairus Moore. Evans City Middle School, 345 W. Main Street, Evans City, will host a Veterans Day Drive-Thru Recognition starting at 9:45 a.m. for veterans of every military branch.Cranberry Public Library is hosting a talk by Dr. Ian Spurgeon from Defence POW/MIA Accounting Agency titled “Fulfilling Our Nation's Promise: Finding Missing Service Members from Past Wars,” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Register online at cranberry.librarycalendar.com/events.
