Freeport golf edges Knoch

Justin Hildebrand shot a personal-best 1-under par 35 to help Freeport's golf team defeat Knoch 194-196 Tuesday afternoon at Buffalo Golf Course.

Christian Evanchec led the Knights (0-2) with a 34. Audrey Clawson also shot a 37 for Freeport (3-0).

Freeport (194): Hildebrand 35, Clawson 37, Mickey Frazetta 40, Brendan Aber 40, Morgan Penn 42.

Knoch (196): Evanchec 34, Ben Thoma 38, Art Biernesser 40, Jimmy Ellis 41, Devin Campebll 43.

Pine-Richland 197, Butler 223 — Nic Leone led the Golden Tornado with a 37 during this section loss at Treesdale.

KSAC Megamatch — Moniteau shot a 217 to finished third in a conference showdown at Hi-Level Golf Course in Kassuth.

Moniteau's Weston Kimmey and Britton Simmons, along with A-C Valley's Noah Morgan and Union's Kolby Montgomery tied for third place with 37s. Keystone's Amber Hess was the medalist, shooting a 35.

Venango Catholic took team honors with a 197.

The Raiders (1-0) also received a 36 from Adam Bushee and Andy Smathers.

Zach Stein paced Mars with a 39.
