MSA in Cranberry Township will partner with the Best of the Batch Foundation to kick off the holiday season with an event Tuesday.
Associates throughout the Cranberry Woods Office Park will bring toys to fill the “Bounce House Present” for deserving children in the region. This is the first time that the “Bounce House Present” has been outside of downtown Pittsburgh.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1000 Cranberry Woods Drive in Cranberry.
The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company will be arriving with Santa, the Grinch and an elf at 11:45 a.m.
U.S. Attorney Scott Brady announced Monday that Mike Warfield, previously of the Pennsylvania State Police, would be the new law enforcement coordinator for the Western District of Pennsylvania.Warfield has more than 27 years of local, state and federal law enforcement experience. He spent 25 years as a trooper with the state police, serving nearly 12 years with the Drug Enforcement Administration.He most recently served as a Lawrence County District Attorney's Office detective assigned to the DEA's Task Force. He began his law enforcement career as a Beaver County deputy sheriff.Warfield's duties involve advising the U.S. Attorney on law enforcement issues throughout the 25-county region covered by the Western District. In addition to facilitating communication between the district and federal, state and local law enforcement, he will also promote community engagement and serve as liaison for state and local law enforcement agencies to bring cases for possible federal prosecution.
Clarion University will offer several free planetarium shows this month in Peirce Planetarium at the Grunenwald Center for Science and Technology.“Stars Over Clarion” will explores the December night sky. The hourlong show will run at 7 and 8 p.m. Thursday.“Season of Light” will trace the history and astronomy of many of the world’s most enduring holiday customs — from sparkling Christmas tree lights and burning the Yule log, to kissing under the mistletoe. The hour- long show will run at 7 and 8 p.m. Friday and Dec. 13.
