For a freshman, Danielle Wissinger plays like a seasoned veteran.

The Slippery Rock Highforward scored three goals as the Rockets rolled past Titusville 4-0 in the first round of the District 10 Class AAA girls soccer playoffs at Harbor Creek HighSchool Monday night.

"I think I said it before, Danielle is definitely the future of this team" said Slippery Rock coachLes Smith.

She's also the present.

Slippery Rock (10-8) dominated from the start, controlling the tempo of the match.

The Rockets took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Elissa McCune.

Wissinger added the first of her goals later in the half to give Slippery Rock a 2-0 lead at the break.

Wissinger added two second-half goals to close out the win, which was a big one for Slippery Rock.

"That was our goal: to get over the hump and past that first round," Smith said. "Now, we can settle down and just play soccer."

Slippery Rock will have another challenge ahead when it plays Mercyhurst Prep Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.

The SlipperyRock boys soccer team also won Monday night at Harbor Creek High, edging Erie Central Tech 2-1.
