SUVs collide; no injuries

Two sport utility vehicles collided Tuesday morning at Kepple's Corner in Fairvew Township. Officials at the scene said no one was injured.

No one was injured in a two-sport utility vehicle crash Tuesday morning at Kepple's Corner in Fairvew Township, authorities said.

The wreck happened about 11:15 a.m. when a Chevrolet Equinox and a Chevrolet Blazer collided on Route 68 near Route 268. The drivers, both women, were able to get out of their vehicles on their own.

State police are investigating. An accident report, including the drivers' names, was not immediately available. A call to the investigating trooper at the Butler barracks was not returned.

The Equinox was traveling east, authorities said, and the Blazer was headed west. Emergency crews said weather or weather conditions did not appear to be a factor. Both vehicles had to be towed.

The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department assisted with traffic control. Fire Chief Cody Craig said crews used the parking lot at the nearby Hometown Grill restaurant to keep traffic moving on Route 68 until the road reopened just before 12:30 p.m.
