Avery Singer scores in Butler girls soccer’s tie; Giada Bonetto scores twice in Karns City win: Highlights & scores
Avery Singer scored Butler girls soccer’s lone goal in a 1-1 draw Wednesday night against Baldwin.
Lucia Leyland had the assist for the Golden Tornado (1-0-1).
Mars 4, Pine-Richland 0 — Jade Breese had a hat trick for the Planets, with Miley Gratton adding the other marker. Mackenzie Powell dished out a pair of assists.
Karns City 4, Brockway 0 — Giada Bonetto had a pair of goals, while Phoebe Brandon and Katelyn VanDyke each added one. Peyton Claypool posted the clean sheet.
Hampton 4, Freeport 3 — Cece Schlegel had a pair of goals and an assist in the Yellowjackets’ loss.
Karns City lost to Brockway 7-0. No further details were available.
Raina Lewandowski had 12 kills and 14 digs for Butler, which lost 3-0 to Riverside by scores of 20-25, 28-30 and 12-25. Sophia Slaugenhoup added eight kills.
A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp (35) and Koen Strauser (36) posted the two best scores at Wednesday’s boys golf KSAC Mega Match No. 7 at Pinecrest Country Club, and the Falcon Knights tied with Redbank Valley for first place with a team score of 165.
Isaac Book paced Moniteau — which finished fourth with a 173 — and Brady Eiler led Karns City with a 43 while the Gremlins finished fifth with a 182.
Butler 197, Beaver 200 — Drew Cuny had a match-best 37 for the Golden Tornado, which improved to 7-2 overall (3-2 in section). Levi McClellan and Eli Snyder both had 39s.
Delaney DiCuccio and Elise Wadas both turned in 44s for Mars in a 187-196 win over Seneca Valley. Raegan Graham chipped in with a 49 and Emily Tillapaugh a 50.
Shaler 220, Butler 226 — Lilly Bauer carded a 55 and Eliza Lozosky a 56 as the Golden Tornado narrowly bowed to the Titans. Butler (0-5, 0-5 in section) will square off with Seneca Valley at Hiland Golf Course on Friday.
