WILKES BARRE — Butler graduate and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart baseball coach Phil McCarren, along with Freeport coach Ed Carr and Burrell coach Mark Spohn, guided the West Region team to the Keystone State Games gold medal Saturday.

The West Region team was comprised of 14 high school players from the WPIAL. Its overall record was 5-0, including a 3-1 win over the Pocono Region in the gold medal game.

Ryan Feczko of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic was a member of the team.
