9:22 a.m. Friday — Kathleen M. Carothers, 62, of Butler was charged with DUI after crashing into a parked vehicle on the 100-block of East Cunningham Street.Police saw the front passenger-side headlight of Carothers' car was smashed. Witnesses said her vehicle struck a parked pickup truck in front of it.Carothers was found to have bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol, police said. She was given a field sobriety test and failed.She was arrested for suspected DUI and taken to the police station, where she took a breathalyzer test. Her blood-alcohol content showed to be .199 percent. The legal limit to drive in Pennsylvania is .08 percent.

6:10 p.m. Thursday — Jennifer Gulu, 35, of East Butler was arrested for allegedly stealing $100 worth of merchandise from Kohls at Butler Crossing.State Police, ButlerFriday — Richard Herold, 59, of Franklin Township reported someone stole his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway on Dick Road.Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 724-284-8100.Thursday — Someone stole a football trophy, food, and soda from the Slippery Rock Parks and Recreation concession stand in Slippery Rock Township.The suspects are believed to have a key since the stand was locked and there was no forced entry.Total stolen items are valued at about $150.State Police, Mercer4:49 a.m. Friday — No one was injured after a tractor-trailer collided with a car on Route 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.Police said Martibel Payano, 26, of Streetsboro, Ohio, was passing the truck while driving west on the route when she lost control of her car.The car struck a median before traveling across the road and hitting the guide rail. The car then spun back onto the road and was struck by the rig, driven by Brenton K. Exley, 46, of Oil City.Payano was cited with a lane violation.12:05 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Roland W. McLaughlin II, 28, of Auburn, W.Va., struck a utility pole along Route 258 in Liberty Township, Mercer County. The impact sheared the pole in half.Neither McLaughlin nor his two passengers were injured.5:50 p.m. Thursday — A three-car accident occurred at the intersection of Route 208 and Old Ash Road in Springfield Township, Mercer County.A car driven by Kris Deemer, 45, of Pulaski failed to stop for traffic and struck the back of a vehicle driven by Ashley Miller, 18, of Volant.The impact forced Miller's vehicle into the back of a car driven by Irene M. Powell, 55, of Mercer, who was waiting to turn onto Old Ash Road.Deemer and Miller suffered minor injuries.Deemer was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Aug. 15 — Someone stole a computer monitor from a Case International Harvester Combine at Lamb and Webster Tractor Sales in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.The screen of another monitor also was damaged.The value of the property damaged and stolen is $4,000.
