Tai Johnson's steal and conventional 3-point play with 4.2 seconds left lifted the Mars' girls basketball team to its first-ever state title with a 36-33 win over Archbishop Wood in Hershey Wednesday night.

Johnson had 10 points. The Planets were led by Bella Pelaia's 14 points. Mars held Wood to 11 of 39 shooting.

The team is expected to return home sometime after 1 a.m. Thursday and will receive an escort from local police, according to Mars School Board President Dayle Ferguson.
