Flash flood warning issued for parts of northeastern Butler County
The county’s northeast is under a flash flood warning for Friday afternoon, according to a National Weather Service warning.
The warning was issued at 12:30 p.m. and will last until 3:30 p.m. The alert said that up to two inches of rain might fall on Parker, Bruin, Petrolia, Karns City and Fairview accompanied by thunderstorms.
“With the ground already saturated from previous rainfall, flash flooding of streams, creeks and roads is likely,” the weather service noted in the warning. “Turn around, don’t drown. Most flood fatalities occur in vehicles.
