Eau Claire woman jailed in alleged stabbing case
An Eau Claire woman is behind bars after state police say she stabbed her boyfriend during a weekend argument at their home.
Authorities report Jessica L. Weber, 34, faces felony assault and other charges. The 33-year-old-victim was treated at Grove City Medical Center for a cut on his arm. His condition was not available Monday.
Police were called to the hospital about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after a relative drove the victim there. Troopers said they spoke to the man, who recounted he and the defendant had been arguing at their South Washington Street home when she punched him in the face.
In turn, the man told investigators, he poured a soda pop on her head and started to walk away.
The victim told police Weber stabbed him in the forearm with a knife while his back was turned, according to charging documents. The injury left him bleeding heavily.
At the house, police described finding a “large blood stain” on the floor and “smaller blood stains” throughout the home.
Police also recovered the knife that was on the living room floor.
Troopers found Weber at a home in Parker Township, where she was arrested. A backpack she had with her, police said, contained a bottle with a suspected Suboxone pill, for which she did not have a prescription.
Suboxone is a narcotic medication approved for the treatment of opiate dependence.
The defendant, police said, corroborated the victim's account. She said after the alleged stabbing, she went to the Parker Township home.
District Judge Bill O'Donnell arraigned Weber on a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance. She also is charged with a summary count of harassment.
Weber is being held in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is set for May 12.
